why we built roughridge

Back in the spring of 2022, while packing for a hunt, we finally hit a breaking point.

Every cook system we owned was either heavy, bulky, broken, or failed when it mattered most. And if we wanted to go ultralight, we had to piece together a setup from five different brands and hope it survived a backcountry hunt.

There wasn’t a true all in one cook system built for hunters like us. Hell, there wasn’t even a brand that represented who we are or the way we live.

So we decided to build our own from the ground up.
