Engineered For The Backcountry
Most backpacking stoves fall apart in the backcountry. They do not pack together, they are too heavy, wind kills the flame, and the ignitor never works when you need it most. The Highcountry Cook System fixes all of it. A 10 oz titanium cook system with a 4-season fuel regulator, removable WindGuard, and an octagon titanium pot that packs the full system inside, spork included. The integrated ignitor lights on the first try, every time. Backed by a 3-year warranty.

-
REMOVABLE WINDGUARD
Pop it on for high wind. Take it off to save weight. The only integrated cook system with a windguard you can actually remove and pack inside the pot.
-
BUILT-IN FUEL REGULATOR
Cold mornings shouldn't leave you with a weak stove. Our stove features a valve system with a set PSI to maintain more consistent heat output, helping it perform better in changing conditions.
-
IRREGULAR OCTAGON POT
No more digging through your pack. Our one-of-a-kind patented design nest the entire cook system inside the pot, including fuel canister, stove, spork, and windguard.
-
BURN-FREE HANDLES + POUR SPOUT
Mug style handles stay cool to the touch. Real pour spout for clean pours into freeze dried meals or your coffee mug.
-
Silicone-Lined Lid
Silicone seal keeps the lid sealed during transport so the pot stays clean inside.
-
8.3" TITANIUM FOLDING SPORK
Long enough to reach the bottom of any freeze-dried meal pouch. Folds in half to fit inside the pot with everything else.
-
STABILITY RIDGES ON POT BOTTOM
Ridges on the pot bottom lock into the stove feet so the pot won't slide off when you're cooking without the WindGuard attached.
-
PRECISE WATER MEASUREMENT MARKS
From 1 oz to 16 oz. Match your meal pouch exactly. Stop guessing, stop wasting fuel boiling too much water.

HOW TO SAVE MORE FUEL IN THE BACKCOUNTRY
HOW TO USE REMOVABLE WINDGUARD
HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE HIGHCOUNTRY COOK SYSTEM
- Wind guard earning all 5 of these stars. #1 backcountry stove in my opinion.
- The igniter system is legit. No more having to use a separate lighter or matches to light.
- Built for hunters, by hunters. Exactly what hunters have been missing in a backcountry cook system.
Really happy with the Roughridge Stove, finally got to use it after getting it in the spring. I love how it packs, and the igniter is a game changer. Never having to get out a Bic, warm it up in my pocket or dealing with it not igniting my stove was a great quality of life improvement. It boils water really quickly, the way the pot locks into the windguard is great for stability and the pour spout is really nice for filling freeze dried meal bags. I got this stove after years of using the MSR Reactor stove, and I can confidently say that Roughridge will be my go to stove for years to come.
Love it works great in rough conditions and lid stays on bouncing around in your pack! Would highly recommend if you’ve been looking for a huge upgrade in your cook system!
I have only used the high country cook system on scouting trips this summer, but it has yet to disappoint in use, functionality, and pack ability. This stove seems to be exactly what hunters have been missing in a back country cook system. Great product, built for hunters, by hunters, and I will support that any day of the week. It’s cool to see they built this from the ground up, and didn’t just slap a label on an existing product and claim it as their own. You can tell that attention to details, that hunters need, was accounted for when they built this system. I plan to put it through the paces on my hunts this fall and hoping it continues to give me the same great consistent results it has so far.
Keep doing what you’re doing Josh& Chris. Will there be t-shirts or different hats soon? For sale?
Maybe a portable Rough Ridge Distillery system in the future?
Just got back from a backcountry scouting trip (11,000-12,000 ft) and the stove was awesome! The biggest difference I noticed is the igniter system is legit. No more having to use a separate lighter or matches to light. Buy with confidence!
Josh and Chris,
The stove worked as advertised. Still very impressed with it and you guys at Roughridge Stove CO. I really like how it all nests together within the pot - nice and compact the towel was a good addition. The igniter works first time lighting the stove no longer have to carry an extra flame lighter for stove. I like the adjustment capability on the flame good job. Covered handles are great along with the shape of the pot I can pour boiling water without getting burned myself. My Chocolate Labrador puppy did not manage to nock it over to my great relief. The elevation of my trip was just under 12,000 feet stove worked great! As stated before you guys have hit a home run.
Attached are a few photographs of our trip with your Roughridge Stove.
Best wishes,
David Suazo
This system meets and exceeds every expectation. From the design of the pot, how sturdy the pot sits on the stove, the durable ignition system, and the rustic look, everything makes this stellar. It punches above its weight class and meets the demands of demanding backcountry hunting.
Great stove. Noticeably lighter than my old jetboil. Everything packs inside itself takes up next to no space in my pack. Invest in quality now, enjoy for a lifetime.
My brother and I went out on a scouting mission for Blacktail. It was so nice having hot soup and fresh coffee out in the middle of nowhere. Wonderful trip great system.
I’m a bowhunter who backpacks, truck hunts, e bikes. And I like how everything packs together and is streamlined with this cook system. The stove burns great and I’m really pleased with the entire setup!
I purchase the absolute best gear for my backcountry hunts. And this cook system has Not disappointed. In addition it’s made by hunters for hunters!!! Thank you guys
Awesome stove used it this weekend on backpacking trip. Wind didn’t affect its performance and it’s super light.
Worked as advertised, boiled water in under 2 minutes in breeze and 49 degree temps. Love how I can stow it all inside! LIGHT!
Absolutely killer system! Every fine detail was great including how everything packs into the pot, the burn control and the hash marks for different meals. And it’s lightweight! Absolutely huge fan of this cook system.
Unpacked stove and ALL is good! I haven't fired yet, but have no doubts when I start using outside hear at home, its gonna be FIRE!
Smooth & easy
I started using my Rough Ridge cook system right away. True test was using it when I was yellowtail fishing with the wind guard earning all 5 of these stars. Seeing great innovation with this system makes it the #1 backcountry stove in my opinion. Well worth the wait. If you question your current gear, make the change to Rough Ridge before fall. Hunt season is already here.
Best back country cook system!! A great company and awesome owners providing great customer services.
Very helpful with all the info and easy to understand.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES THIS WORK WITH STANDARD FUEL CANISTERS?
Yes. The Highcountry Cook System works with any standard threaded isobutane canister. We include 2 Roughridge 4-Season canisters to get you started, but you can use any compatible fuel on the market.
DOES THE FULL SYSTEM PACK INSIDE THE POT?
Yes. The stove, spork, and fuel canister all nest inside the irregular octagon titanium pot. One container, no loose pieces, no wasted space in your pack.
CAN I RUN IT WITHOUT THE WINDGUARD?
Yes. The WindGuard is fully removable. Take it off to reduce packed size and weight. Ridges on the bottom of the pot lock onto the stove feet to keep everything stable without it.
HOW DOES THE HIGHCOUNTRY COOK SYSTEM PERFORM IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES?
We tested it at 13,000 feet, in temperatures down to -10 degrees, with winds over 50 mph. It performed without fail. The 4-season fuel regulator maintains consistent output in cold and at altitude where unregulated stoves lose pressure and struggle to boil.
CAN I REPLACE INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS?
Yes. Replacement parts are available if something needs to be replaced. If your system is within the 3-year warranty period, contact us first and we will take care of it.
HOW MANY BOILS CAN I EXPECT FROM ONE ROUGHRIDGE FUEL CANISTER?
Expect 12-16 boils per 110g canister depending on conditions. Wind, altitude, and temperature all affect fuel consumption. Using the simmer function conserves fuel and extends canister life on longer trips.
CAN THE SYSTEM SIMMER FOR REAL COOKING, OR ONLY BOIL WATER?
Both. Bring water to a boil fast, then dial back to a simmer for real cooking. The simmer control also conserves fuel, which matters on multi-day hunts where resupply is not an option.
